The right choice

Yes it was the right choice to jump into this job even thiugh I had intern. Towards the last few days of this month, I have my last day of work, last meal w them, last day of running errands w them etc.

Her name is Chris. I was on full shift at US that day and she had am shift at vivo. But right after her shift, she came to find me at US and pei me till we close shop! So nice of her pls. It was great to have someone to talk to during work that day and we cld go buy things tgt cos Jessie was on shift at the shop too (it was a Sat thus 2 ppl on shift).

Yay to Dinosaur Exhibition @ MBS for company event! But you see, everyone thr (except Mark, our company partner) were in pairs. Like fiona and bf, serena and bf, etc. Tgt w all the ppl idk well. So.. the exhibition wasn’t rly like exciting or fun. Our company’s products were sold thr though! Hehe. And I’m thankful to Fiona who came over and talk to me becos it made the whole exhibition a hell lot btr. 🙂

And I continue my days running arrands and doing things all arnd SG w boss! But on my 2nd last day of work, it was my first meal at Sushi Tei! Yes I’ve nv tried it before until that day hahaha. I ordered soft shell crab and it was yumzzzz!

Chris also came over to meet me at US shop and we went office tgt. We talked a little and she helped w things too. After awhile, she drew doramon and panda on the whiteboard! And of cos, I introduced her the beautiful view of the sunset frm our office hehehe. Man, I will miss it when I no longer go thr 😦

Andddddd on my last day of work, it was madness at night hahaha. Dinner was Extra Virgin & we play cards all the way until 10pm right after that. Wow, what a nice way to end my work!! I was also touched by a hug frm the lady boss frm our neighbouring shop. When I saw her, she came towards me with her arms open “Crystal! All the best for everything *hugs*” awwww hehehe.

After that day, I went out w Chris for the whole day hehehe. We went to kbox and it was nice to be like crazy and loud in thr! After our dinner @ EWF at Ochard Central, we trained atw to vivo for like half hr. We had a mission to complete, it’s called Mission: Pass the Garrett 😉

And yes i’ve since ended work and I’m coming towards the end of my freedom…

 

After the birthday celebrations, I took some more time away frm my job and focused on hanging out w my friends and stuff!

Firstly, met up with Amanda mummy for dinner! Supposedly I arranged a gathering for Olea, my orientation grp when I first came to NP. They are the first few ppl I meet in hms. Ppl frm everywhr with all sorts of background. I started poly life w them, and I wanted to end it with them too. But unfortunately, all of them started saying they cmi at the last min, leaving only me and Amanda, who was the GL of our grp. And thus she was like our mummy! It was a great catch-up w her at Hatched @ HV nevertheless! We talked abt our lives and guess what, we have been on the same boat. Meeting the same type of guys alamak. But I meet more jerks than her though hahaha. Nvm about that, lets focus back. Oh the food was really nice and the service thr is good too!!

I also managed to meet up w my poly clique whr we planned surprises for 2 girls! We had 3 WA convers for that and we were soooo confused omg! And here it goes, cool place w nice backgrounds for photos!

I know.. that blue-black on my arm is damn huge…

Next I finally finally had the chance to meet up w Javier! My friend of 5yrs!
But that day, his friend came along too. We had brunch tgt at Wild Honey whr the food was great too! As usual, Jav’s as annoying ever but I cld gang up w his friend on him HAHA which is not bad. Ltr that day his gf came over and we talked for just a short lil while. But well, if only we cld meet up another day to just chat and chat. Maybe during June hols hmm..

And then after that day, his gf, Regina, wanted to go out w me! So yes we did, a couple of days later (I think). And we went to Strictly Pancakes at Dohby yay! And we went impromptu shopping at Fareast somemore hehe. But walao fareast so lousy now,  the shops all for rent for rent. Nothing much left 😦 and ltr on that day I went for my review for my LASIK-d eyes! 🙂 so glad my eyes are recovering well!

Having gone into the shop ‘Made with Love’ at 313 Somerset for a few times and looking at the scrapbooking stuffs, I also felt interested in them because they’re so adorable and there are like pop-ups here and thr! Eventually I went to Huiqi and asked her for guidance towards Scrapbooking! And yup, we met up for dinner and gosh this sweet girl gave me so many materials to start my scrapbooking! So thankful for her hehe. And we spent near one hr at PaperMarket oh my. But I spent near $40 & got member! Hehehe.

I must say that secret recipe’s veg is damn good – soft and nice!

Next up,
I finally went out w Kiagek, a friend whom I can relate to everytime we meet in sch. But for the past yrs, I haven’t gone out w her. So yay we had a full day date tgt!!

First we went to Loysel’s Toys cafe for brunch. That place was rly hard to find and we walked for quite long 😦 and one of my freshies, Clara, work thr too! Hehe.

Tea-time at Lady M was great too! The whole place is like white-themed and the cakes are the main focus. Hehe. But they need more cheesecakes rly 😦

Oh and that day aside frm all the food, we went shopping and even had a kiddy adventure at kiddy place!

And lastly, I have a meet up w a camp grp! It’s been so long since I go out with campmates after camp, and in case you dk, its rly rly hard to do so becos everyone is occupied w their own things. But that night, we pushed away all other things to come tgt. Pushed away other birthday celebrations, work, outings w friends, time w fam, and one of them came just to see us and hang out cos she was sick and cldnt eat. This is a grp worth keeping tgt 🙂

Happy birthdays!

On 9th of March, it was a mad rush day no jokeeeee.
Because I planned a surprised bday celebration for Ryan with his good buds, and I was invited to Sandy’s birthday party at her condo too. And it’s both in the evening so woahhhhh.

I met up w his friends in the afternoon to shop and buy gifts for him at cine and scape! After that I left the guys to go join Sandy for her birthday party! Was just in time for hers 🙂 after a few hrs of fun and laughter, I had to leave. But I got delayed for an hr because the bday girl didn’t wanna let me go T_T
I received calls regarding work and I need to settle things asap. But right after I left the party, while otw to go busstop, I got spammed w calls. First call was frm Bryan, Ryan’s friend, saying Ryan’s plane had touched down. And woah we were still far away frm his hse when he touched down in SG. Panic starts. Got the guys to help buy some things for the family as well, while I rushed over. Wanted to cab but no cab in sight 😦 then the other calls were all regarding work, but all diff issues. 3 diff issues coming at me and awaiting for me to solve it asap. Wah stress max. Making calls all the way until I reach Ryan’s hse, no joke. And I had to bring the guys to his hse. I was hoping we were on the right bus and alighting at the right stop. Woola, I DID IT. And when we received the info that Ryan and his dad is coming up, we all panicked HAHAHA. Off the lights and hold the cake and kept quiet. And when he came in…. SURPRISE! Omg I cld totally sense his SURPRISED FEEL. It’s all written over his face HAHAHA. If you want, go stalk him and see the vid on insta. I’m really really glad that the surprise went well and he’s terribly happy w his gift and the simple celebration! The lucky thing is that I’m close w his family, which is my cousin la. So things were easy to arrange w them. Also, I’m thankful for Sean, Mervin, Waihing and Bryan frm Ryan’s side because they really helped to give info and buy things etc. :’)

The end, is a new beginning.

11th March was the last day I’m gonna be back in Chaoyang Sch 😦
Kefei and I went back to do presentations for tchers frm both sessions and let them knw about our Science Kit as they are gonna use it frm next semester onwards. The first presentation is in the morning and thr were only a few teachers. Feedback was good too! Although when we showed them one of the many manipulatives, the whole grp was distracted and talking among themselves. So I had to pause and wait for a little while. But that’s good! They were engaged! Hehehe. Thn before the 2nd session, there was like 3hrs to spend omg. So after lunch in cys, Kefei and I went to hub so I cld do some errands! Took my passport photo, deposited money, and we both ended up buying pants tgt at Code Red!
Then back to sch and we realised that P and VP were sitting in the 2nd session which had like more teachers omgggggg. Stress level zoomed up up.
But I realised I wasn’t as nervous as the first session! I am closer to these batch of tchers and they are very very encouraging!! Our mentor, Mrs Nair, even stood up and applaused when we ended the presentation AWWW. So sweet right!! She kept saying how proud she was of us! I was so reluctant to leave the school after the presentations 😦 so I ended up writing a note for Mrs Nair and leaving on her table before Kefei and I went off. Bittersweet feeling. I’m really done w poly and fyp but I gotta leave this sch w a very good working environment too 😦 nvrtheless, I had to snap pictures because it’s the last day!!

Do you remember when you used to be a primary/secondary kid and you will wait for teachers outside the staffrm? And we wld be usually near the door because there’s aircon and it will be so cooling as compared to the corridors. And if you’re the lucky girl/boy chosen to help tchers carry things, you can go through the cubicles in the staffrm atw to the teacher’s table to take/put things while you enjoy the shiok aircon in the meantime! But for the past months, I was the teacher. I get my own cubicle in the staff room, get the access card to all rooms, & choose students to carry things for me. I used to look up at the windows of staffrm but now I look out to see cutesy students. I can’t describe how honoured or how much I appreciated this :’)

 

Commitments.

Yup I do have lots of commitment even after school has ended!

Work wise, I became a full-timer for a month because I had to replace my colleague who went overseas. Although that 1week+ was DAMN hectic, it was like a total new experience for me! Went around SG with boss meeting company partners and playing a part in deciding what stocks to import. Like woah, the role of a secretary hahaha. It’s like really v busy and I see my bosses every single day and get ferried from one place to another a few times a day. So all my bosses now knw my weakness: motion sickness hahahaha. Becos on the vehicles I’ll suddenly be v quiet when I get giddy hehe. Also, because I didn’t get enough sleep, I got cranky for a few days la HAHA I was laughing and laughing and talking to myself when we were packing stocks or discussing work things HAHAHA no face alrd.
And normally I dont wear shorts to work cos I feel that its inappropriate although my bosses all okay w it and they wear shorts too. Thn one day, I asked boss is I cld wear shorts the next day becos I was tired of wearing pants. he said okay. The next day, we went to meet new company partner and have fine dining OMGGGG. I felt terrible manzxc. But the funny thing is, bosses were like “aiya nvm la!” Hahahaha aiyoooo.

YAY completed late at nightttt.

Aside from my work commitment, I also categorise my social life and r/s as a commitment. So… I hang out w my dear friends!

It has been more thn 6months since I last met up with this dear girl and camwhoring is definitely in our to-do list every time! Oh and we had a shopping day at bugis! We spent more thn $100 that day but woo, we were so happy w our buys. I bought things for my bro and friends too! Fruitful shopping day yayyyyyy ♥

Another girl I haven’t met up w in dk how long. With her, I can rant and she will rant and we get soooo engaged in our conver HAHA no joke. I think the both of us need to meet up much more thn this man. I recently created a fb album to upload all our camwhores too HAHA ♥

And of course, how can I forget about my beloved nephew, Ryan!

It’s definitely not easy to book this guy for a day ya. So that day we cld finally meet up, and we went cafe hopping! Firstly to a kiddy place – With a pinch of salt. The atmosphere totally suits me but not him hahahaha the food wasn’t bad too! 🙂 and for dinner we went to Paragon’s Big O Cafe to enjoyyyyy. When we post the photos up, ppl say we look more like a couple than nephew and ahyi. Well that means we’re v close and its good! Although we will never be and can never be tgt, but girls, he’s a good catch! Hahaha thoughtful guy 😉

SCHOOL’S OUT!

Hello everyone! Sorry for the hiatus from my blog. I have been really really busy juggling internship project, work and relief teaching! Moreover, my ahma was hospitalised for awhile and I had to take over all the cooking and preparation for CNY etc. It was really hectic and I cldnt put aside alot of time for myself. But anyway, I have survived everything!!

For my family side, I learnt how to do Ngoh Hiang, the food that is loved by all my relatives regardless of their age, every year. The process of wrapping it and frying was quite easy but the measurement of the amount of food and how to chop and cut them was difficult. Like its all the preparation that is difficult. I hope I will have chance to do it myself next time and see whr my standards are haha. I spent days just chopping and cutting and peeling and cooking various dishes with help frm ahma.

And eventually…. the day before CNY, I crashed. I woke up that morning, with a rather bad throat which I alrd had few days ago. Then proceed to cook for praying. After that, I was down with fever, cough, flu, headache, bad throat and I even vomited. It’s been so long since I last vomited 😦 and I didnt tell ahma becos well she isn’t very well herself and that’s why I was doing so much. Luckily for dad and mum who came back and helped out for the rest of the day. The next day, CNY DAY ONE! And fortunately I felt btr! Still able to help preparation for cooking etc. It’s actually good that I don’t go out to bai nian on day one hehe. And I still get to see my dearest nephew!

Well I was still sick that day so please pardon my sickly face here.

And that aside… I HAVE FINISHED MY POLY EVERYONE! on 11th February, Kefei and I did our last presentation and handed up our final year project. I tell youuuuu, we are super proud of our project!! I don’t really have a picture of the science kit booklet, but I have a picture of myself hugging it!!

Hehehe can you sense how proud and happy I am in this picture? :’)

And 11th feb started so nicely. I was nervous the previous night and cldnt fall asleep so I WA-d Ryan. In the morning, I saw his reply which included words of encouragement. It might just be a few short sentences but hell, it meant so much to me that morning! Having seen those words the minute I wake up, I told myself, I CAN DO IT and went on to prepare and all. During the presentation, Kefei’s field mentor, Mrs Woon, came to sit in. Also, I had one and only one supporter – Seryun!!! At the end of it, she came to congratulate me and gave me a little something!! Aww :’) so blessed to have known her :’) Mrs Woon also gave Kefei and I presents!! Yayyyyyy we’re so blessed 🙂 🙂

And after which, we cabbed back to cys tgt and I dropped the two of them off and continued on my journey ~

And the next exciting part? Meeting the bosses. Okay that phrase might sound scary to other people hahaha but it’s really fun for me. I was allowed to cab to the place and claim company becos I had presentation before that hehehe. But when I reached, thr was nobody else!! I thought they wld already be thr eating mannnn. When the bosses came… I RECEIVED PRESENTS AND ANGBAOSSSSS. Gerald went overseas and came back with a cute customized pouch and a SUPER PANDA tee for me! Omg I was so elated when I saw the tee shirt. Normally I go like “dont worry, super panda is here to save the day” but mei you the tee. Now I can wear it and say that HAHAHA yayyyy!

And so, we had steamboat as company lunch and we went to sing K after that all the way until 7pm! So glad to be working for these bosses ^^

And to end off my story of my wonderful day, how can I forget about my wonderful partner – Ah Teo!

She is the one and only person I can discuss project things with.
She is the one and only friend I have cooked for.
She is the one who scolds me ‘stupid girl’ when I do something silly hahaha.
And she is the one who have helped me along for the whole 5months. I shan’t say any further because if I do, I will be repeating words that I have wrote to her in the letter I have given to her. So… just wanna say 谢谢你 :’)

 

Busy schedule.

Yes, as I have mentioned from my previous post, this week is gonna be hectic.

After that day in sch, I had like full day work on Wednesday and it was soooooo boring because sales was damn bad. Thursday, I had relief in the morning and luckily it wasnt that bad. After which I rushed to get something for Ryan and bought food to bring to NP for jnrs on duty at Open House! Wooohoooo back to the days..
But I wasn’t attired properly la becos I went straight from Relief teaching so… I cldnt tend to visitors but its okay. I was able to just hang out all arnd HMS. Go to the diff booths and talk to my friends hahaha. I saw ms jean too YAY!!
Then I had to meet ppl to get/pass something so I was going all arnd NP hahahaha.
Aiya, my wish of going Open House as a “sec sch” student didnt come true 😦

Silhouette of my side view! It’s a conplimentary thing when visitors play games at the booths. Which, I myself do not have to, in order to get it hehehe.

On friday, I had Relief teaching as well. This time rnd, I took the challenging class alone, with Ms Lam coming in at times to assist me for like 15mins. I feel so drained after that but I’m glad I’m able to handle afterall!! Right after that I had to do proj w Kefei, and I think I wasnt thinking properly for like 1/3 of the time. Then finish proj and here comes the fun part yayyyyy.
Went home to change and put down my students’ worksheets, thn out I went to meet Berfont, Marcus, Dehao and Jiewei for Dinner!! But the place ah… I NEARLY GOT LOST LA WALAO SIGH. I was like “trekking” amidst the private hses because of the slopes. And when I finally got to the restaurant I was soooooo happy. Hehehe.
And hanging out with these dudes always make me laugh and laugh la. So it’s like although I was quite quiet and didn’t talk much cos I was too quiet, I listen to these jokers I will laugh also hahaha. Oh yes, happy birthday to DeHao!! 🙂 🙂

We spent the after-dinner time to torture berfont instead of dehao. I wonder why hahaha but berfont was like eating so so much cake oh gosh hahaha.

And we didnt take a photo in the restaurant, so we had to take one at the dark busstop with poor lighting 😦

Okay so it’s like week 7 of my project weeks. Left 2 weeks to complete everything. But we suddenly realised that we have lots and lots to do hahaha.

Oh gosh I hope we can hang in there!

This week is crazy because I have many other things aside frm the ones above.

But anyway, on Monday, Kefei and I did relief teaching! I thought I cld see my adorable kids again. Okay yes I saw them, but not in classroom setting. I got 2 new classes. Havent taught them or handled them before. So it was quite a challenge. Moreover, we did Home Econs. Ohmy. Luckily we didn’t have to cook hahaha. And later that day, after doing some project things, I went back, and crashed. I realised those luttle kiddos sucked the energy out of me oh gosh. Like really suck until it’s depleted hahaha.

Ytd I went back to sch for consultation for 2hrs. Woah so longgggggg. But I’m glad everything was great overall. Minor changes to be made here and there 🙂
Then I went to find Ryan in the library! A quick chat and off I went ~
Although it’s just 15mins, it was so nice to see him again 🙂

School, I miss school.
I miss the hugs I get from bumping into my friends in school.
I love hugs.

 

Jingle bells jingle bells ~

Christmas was definitely different this yr!

I went for work for half a day from morning till evening, and I went to volunteer!

I was first introduced to the event by Berfont, and I decided to just go ahead! I asked to be randomly assigned to a grp since we are all thr to make friends. So yes, I arrived in amk at arnd 530 and we waited for a few others before walking to the blk together!

When we reached, all the items were alrd packed nicely thanks to the organisers – Marcus and Berfont. We were then briefed and we cld start when our grp members were all here. Unfortunately… one of my grp member was very late so it turned out that mine was the last grp to start giving out the packs to the residents 😦

But it’s okay, because through all the waiting and stuff, I got to knw my grp members & marcus btr. Then we went upstairs and I went empty handed HAHA cos there were 2guys in my grp, and one of them had to carry more because he was late hiakhiakhiak. Then marcus followed our grp and the 4 of us went up to knock door-to-door! The grp of us started to warm up to one another and we cracked jokes and all. They were all so friendly laaaaaa so nice! After that when we were all done, it was arnd 730pm alrd! Had debrief, take photos, and stood arnd for awhile. I caught up w Hannah, a friend I got to knw thru Amanda mummy! And we were talking halfway when I heard “Crystal! Come here!” Marcus asked me to join them in this oh-ya-bei-ya-soom game where the forfeit was to go to the auntie sitting at the voiddeck near us and give her a hug. I was fine w that so yes, we did it. OH-YA-BEI-YA-SOOM! Guess who was the odd one out? 😉
It was berfont! So he was like “HEY AUNTIE! MERRY CHRISTMAS…………….” but what the auntie replied was.. “很脏啊!” Meaning, so dirty! HAHAHAHA poor him got rejected. But no, the auntie was refering to herself, saying she havent bath or sth and v dirty. So ite he did give her a hug! 🙂

After the whole thing, we went to amk hub for dinner/supper! That was when I saw how Marcus was very observant. Like he will notice when ppl feel left out. Hahaha. And Beryl, berfont’s sister, was very thoughtful too! I mentioned that I cldnt eat icecream, and when she bought drinks for others, she took a cup of plain water for me! Aww 😉

Too involved?

Nop, I’m not talking abt relationships.

I’m refering to my work.

I’m a part-timer, but I do get involved in discussing new systems with boss and higher-ups, informing all other part-timers abt information and schedules, doing up documents, packing stocks.

I wld also like to clarify that I’m willing to do the above things, thats why I did. But these few days, I feel so exhausted. I had a stay-home day but I spent half the day doing my job stuffs anyway.. and I thought it’d be good if I kinda step away from all these a little. I am sick and tired of going to the shop to pack the things and clarify this and that, instead of serving the customers. It makes me so pissed when I see things in a mess. Ruins my mood to serve customers too. What made it btr was the presence of capable colleagues who shared the burden w me. So thankful for these few.

For one or two others, I get so annoyed when I alrd told them umpteen times, how to do a certain thing. It’s like spoonfeeding every wk. Why must I, why. If you dont have the heart to work, DONT WORK. I really appreciate those who take time to read the SOP (standard operating procedure) that I have printed and laminated and placed in the shop. It’s all in thr. How to do this, how to do that. And after a whole day of packing the shop, I was thinking they wldnt knw whr to keep what, whr to put what. So I created another document for that. Some do read and do this and even search by themselves before asking me. Others just stand thr and ask whr is this whr is that. Don’t that deserve a punch?

Sigh I’m tired. Sick and tired.

But thn, now the question is: how do I step away? That’s what I gotta ponder upon.

Phew.
